The center for research in VIG-Robotics was established in 2011 at CUI-Lahore to provide a centralized and multidisciplinary platform for researchers of computer, Vision, Image processing, Geometric modeling (VIG), and Robotics. Center provides round the clock high processing resources to researchers by connecting them remotely with the central GPUs and supervision of foreign qualified experienced PhD faculty to graduate students. VIG-Robotics is successfully meeting the rapidly increasing demand of society, industry, and market in the domain of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Medical Image Processing, Video Analytics, and Geometric Modelling for applications in healthcare, forensic departments, software houses, electronic & print media, safe city projects, security agencies, civil aviation, industries & offices, Pakistan air force & NESCOM, remote sensing, disaster management, GIS, OCR, and many more.

3rd Position in "AIEF 1st National AI Competition" at LUMS. Students from the Computer Science department at COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore campus, achieved the 3rd position in the esteemed "AIEF 1st National AI Championship" presented by Soliton Technologies. This competition was hosted at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) on July 22, 2023. Their final year project, entitled "Forensic Face Matching at Airports During Passport Control" stood out among a pool of 200 remarkable entries. This project is supervised by Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Habib and co-supervised by Dr. Allah Bux Sargana & Mr. Mohsin.
